THE STORY AND SPIRIT BEHIND OUR BRAND
The word Flat Hat was coined in the early days of aviation. Legend has it that one especially daring young pilot flew his aircraft so low that his landing gear crushed an onlooker’s top hat. “Flat Hatting” soon became the term used to describe the unauthorized, not quite by-the-book flying that almost every pilot engaged in. Sure it often resulted in the pilot being reprimanded or ‘put in hack’, but that kind of boldness can’t be grounded. We feel that same spirit is what drives us all to push ourselves and test our limits in whatever activity or sport we choose. The thrill was worth it … and we bet you agree.
